Obituary- Jackson L. Dohrman, 83, of Fort Ashby, died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, at Sacred Heart Hospital.

Born March 12, 1922, in Patterson Creek, he was the son of the late Roy H. and Pansy M. (Alkire) Dohrman. He was a veteran of World War II, having enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Force in 1942. He had two and one half years of service overseas. Mr. Dohrman was the recipient of seven battle stars, five Presidential unit citations, along with other medals and ribbons. He attained rank of staff sergeant. In 1982, Mr. Dohrman retired from the management staff of PPG Industries, Cumberland.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ohr Lodge 131, A.F. & A.M., Salem Chapter 18, R.A.M. Antioch Commandery 6, Knights Templar, Ali Ghan Shrine and Henry Hart Post 1411, VFW. Survivors include his wife, Betty J. (Barnes) Dohrman; two daughters, Robin (Dohrman) Ayers and husband Kenneth, Romney, and Bonnie J. Dohrman, Frostburg; one grandson, Ian Jeffries, Seattle, Wash.; and his sister, Evelyn M. Fisher, Baltimore.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Fort Ashby. Ohr Lodge 131 A.F. & A M. will conduct a memorial service at the funeral home on Saturday. The funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Sunday with the Rev. Mark Hickman officiating. Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by the local combined veteran honor guard. Published in the Cumberland (MD) Times-News, Saturday, February 25, 2006
