Jackson George Garner was born abt 1820 and died abt 1897 as far as our research has taken us. We have been unable to find documentation to verify beyond family history accounts. Also missing from documentation is where he is buried. The last we can trace him is in the 1880 Census.

We know his first wife was Celia Ann Brewer. We did find documentation for the marriage on November 2, 1842 in Bibb County, Alabama but the gives the name of John Garner?

He married his second wife Eliza Ann Moltin January 7, 1868 in Fayette, Fayette, Alabama.

Jackson was born about 1820 in Greene County, Alabama. He had 13 children with his first wife Celia who he married November 13, 1842 in Bibb County, Alabama.
After her death he married Eliza and had 6 more children. According to Fayette County, Alabama Marriage and Probate Records, he married Eliza A. Hamm in Fayette County, Alabama on January 7, 1868 in the house of John Malloy.
Compiled by Betty C Wiltshire, this marriage is recorded in the courthouse page 138. Jackson Garner - Eliza A. Hamm January 7, 1868 at the home of John Malloy
Jack Garner raised cotton. He took 40 bales of cotton to market. When he delivered the last two and was ready to get paid for them all, he found that the company that he had been selling to was bankrupt and he couldn't get paid. This caused him to lose everything that he had. He raised 19 of his own children and three grandchildren.
He passed away in Tennessee sometime after March 29, 1884 which is the date his youngest son was born. It is believed by family members that he passed away in the year 1897 in Dresden, Weakley County, Tennessee.
