Jacob "Benjamin" J Howard

The second of five sons born to Solomon Horowitz and Jennie Gorovitz and older brother to Moe, Curly and Shemp Howard of the Three Stooges. Oldest brother Irving was the only one of the five to retain the Horowitz surname. Jack Howard worked in the insurance field, and like Irving, was never involved in show business. Jack married Laura Brukoff in October, 1918, and they had three children: Bernice "Tootsie" Howard (Herzog), Rhea "Dolly" Howard Elliott, and Norman Howard. Laura died in 1943 and Jack married her sister Marie Brukoff in November, 1945. She survived him, along with their children and five grandchildren. When he passed on at age 83, Benjamin "Jack" Howard was the last survivor of the five brothers.
