JACOB GWINNER
Intently Killed by Train Near Caledonia
Jacob Gwinner aged 79 was instantly killed by an Erie train near Caledonia Thursday evening. Mr. Gwlnner has been living with bis daughter Mrs. Frances Kink at Caledonia the greater pnrt of the time since leaving his farm. He was quite hearty for a man of his advanced years and whenever there was opportunity delighted in doing easy work. He had been husking corn on a farm near Caledonia and was returning to bis daughter's home when he was struck by a train east of the Caledonia bridge. The deceased was born in Württemberg, Germany tn 1834 and in 1848 he came to this country settling just north of Crawford county. Following bis marriage to Elizabeth Nelson of New Winchester he moved to that vicinity and farmed for many years. He owned a farm near New Winchester at the time of bis death: Ten children were born unto the marriage five of whom are living. The wife of the deceased died 12 years ago and he is survived by the following children: George and Samuel of this city Mrs. lille Stinehelfer and Mrs. Ella Stinehelfer of Gallon and Mrs. Pauline Fink of Caldonia Also 25 grandchildren and 16 groat grandchildren. The funeral took place Sunday 12 o'clock at Whetstone church with burial at Whetstone cemetery.
