Dictionary of Biography. Jacob Ilive, printer who was sentenced to 3 years hard labour for printing works of blasphemy, which his mother, Elizabeth/Jane James, daughter of Thomas James, printer, had specially requested he print in her will. He printed lude works and advocated a promiscuous life style following natural instinct.
He was a son of a printer from Aldegate st. considered a "High Flyer" and brothers Abraham and Isaac, similarly printers.
