Jacob Francis Lemm Der Nordstearn Thur. 19 Jan. 1913 Luxemburg After suffering his third stroke, Jacob Lemm, one of the pioneer settlers of Stearns County departed this life on Sunday morning. The deceased has been ailing in recent years and at the end was completely dependent upon the care of his family. The long illness provided his with a fine opportunity to prepare himself for death. He was born 75 years ago in the District of Trier, in the Rhineland from where he emigrated to America as a young man, staying some years in Ohiom and thence, in 1859 came to Stearns County. During the Civil War he served in Company "G" of the Ninth Minnesota Volunteer Regiment. After his separation he settled on a farm here and for a time served the county as Deputy Sheriff under Sheriff Mickley. In the last years, he made his home in Luxembourg near St. Wendlin's Church, where he spent the evening of his life at the side of his devoted spouse, with her, 13 children mourn the death of their good Father. They are these: Heinrich of Luxemburg, Phillip from Canada, Joseph if Orville, Mont., Jacob, Mathias, Wilhelm and Nicholaus of Canada, Wendelin of Luxemburg, Ignaz of Duluth, Dominic and Leo of Muxemburg, Mrs. Nic Becker of Luxemburg and Mrs. Webber of St. Cloud, Mrs. Lommel of Luxemburg, Mrs. J. Meyer of Richmond, and Mrs. John Mohs of Great Falls, Mont. The Requiem was said by Rev. Gulderman at 9:00AM on Tuesday in the Parish Church with burial in the presence of St. Wendlin's Men's Club, of which he had long been an esteemed member and formerly greatly participated in its activities. To him eternal rest and to the survivors our condolences.
