Pioneer; lived most of his adult life in Rowan Co, NC; first seen there in the 1810 census as Jacob Lype and was still there in 1850 as a 76 year old in the home of daughter Mary "Polly" (Lipe) Overcash; seen in several lists of members of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church; was one of several men who pledged 50 cents each to help buy four acres of land on which to build a church and establish a cemetery on 17 Jan 1839. - George Lipe
