About Jacob Mast
He is the subject of a part of the Reeser Genealogy written in July 2014 by Robert Reeser. (see pages 104-109). He was a manager of the White Horse Inn in Salisbury Township in Pennsylvania. His son John L was named for the owner of that establishment (John Lightner) which is located in Lancaster County, PA He organized a community group to deal with Horse thieves and murderers that were terrorizing the Gap area. He worked with his brother-in-law John Reeser settling estates in Salisbury Township, PA.
He married twice although all children listed below are with his first wife, Fanny. His second wife was Sarah. They were married June 18, 1861. She passed away exactly 1 year later June 18, 1862.
Other children in this family were: Jacob 9/1/1824-1884 lived in Altoona, Blair Co. PA with his wife Lucretia "Hannah" Haines Mast and their daughter Frances and two sons Jacob and Joshua. His sister Barbara Haines and family lived near him and he took them in when Barbara took ill with diabetes and returned to Salisbury township in Lancaster Co.
