Son of Johann Jacob Metzger and Barbara Dast they immigrated on the Chesterfield 28 Aug 1750. Supposedly there was an epedemic on the Chesterfield and all children aboard died except for our Jacob. Jacob Metzger married abt 1768 New Jersey to Mary Unknown He Was an Indian Spy for Washington during the Revolution Moved to Ohio about 1805 Some of his children were in Ohio bef 1800. They lived in Buffalo Valley and before the Revolution there was Indian trouble and the families had to move out. They moved over the state line into New Jersey. The men would go in an raise crops. In 1906 Harry Metzger of Fort Wayne, IN had an old German Bible.
