Jacob had a warrant for acreage along a branch of the Swatara Creek in what is now Lebanon County in 1737. He conveyed the land to Martin Oberholtzer, assumed to be his son. It was patented in July 1773.

Jacob Oberholtzer settled in Salford Twp (now Franconia Twp), Phila Co (now Montgy Co) and on 11/13/1729 bought 180 acres from James Steel. When he immi- grated is unknown, however, the fact that in the 1st month of 1732/33 he paid 15 years quit rent to James Steel (agent for William Penn) would seem to indicate he possibly settled on his land as early as 1717.
