About Jacob Patrick, Sr.
A Patriot of the American Revolution for CONNECTICUT with the rank of Private. DAR Ancestor # A088678
Jacob Patrick had 13 children. The American Revolution began in 1775, British soldiers and American patriots fought at Lexington, Massachusetts and nearby Concord. In 1783, the Treaty of Paris ended the war. Great Britain was forced to recognize the independence of the 13 colonies of the United States. Jacob served in the Revolutionary War in Robert Dickson's Company out of Voluntown, CT.
A public notice indicated he had his own problems at home: “Whereas, Zeruah, my wife has eloped my bed and board, without any just provocation, I therefore forewarn all persons from trusting and harboring her on my account, as I am determined not to pay any debts of her contracting after this date”.
