About Jacob Paul
Jacob Paul, 89, Bismarck, died Sept. 27, 2005, at a Bismarck, North Dakota hospital. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery with military honors provided by VFW Post No. 1326.
Jacob Paul was born May 7, 1916, the son of Joseph and Francesca (Hoffman) Paul.
He was raised and educated in the St. Anthony, North Dakota area and farmed with his parents until 1937, when he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving for three years. Jacob married Margaret Schwartz of Mandan, North Dakota in 1940.
He worked for Minneapolis Moline Company until 1942, when he again entered the U.S. Army during World War II, serving three years with the 12th Armored Division in France and Germany. Following his discharge in December 1945, Jacob again worked for Minneapolis Moline as branch manager in Bismarck until the branch closed in 1958. He then worked at the district office of the North Dakota Highway Department as a bookkeeper and accountant tech for 23 years, until his retirement in 1981.
At the time of his death, he was a member of St. Mary's parish, a life member of the Disabled American Veterans, and a Golden Age Eagle member of the F.O.E.
Jacob is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Maryann and Andrew Frison, Sun City West, Arizona; and Marcella and Allan Lund, Bismarck, North Dakota; five grandchildren, Lisa Egan, Glendale, Arizona; Kari Frison, Phoenix, Arizona;, David and Trena Frison, Surprise, Arizona; Curtis Lund, Minneapolis, and Ryan Lund, Fargo;, North Dakota.
Also four brothers and sisters-in-law, Fabian and Gardie Paul, and Anton and Elaine Paul, all of Mandan, North Dakota, George and Frances Paul, Bismarck, and Nick and Rosemary Paul, Cody, Wyoming; three sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret Fried, Perpetua and Steven Mildenberger, and Clara Markel, all of Bismarck, North Dakota; and one sister-in-law, Eileen Paul, Mandan, North Dakota..
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; his parents, Joseph and Francesca; three brothers, Joseph, John and Peter; and one sister, Catherine Kottsick.
