What would you do if you were Jacob Pelgrom (Rouen c. 1655 - Batavia 1713), a French Huguenot that had to flee France because his religion was forbidden?
Pelgrom ordered a huge Kangxi porcelain dinner service in China, with his coat-of-arms on it.
And this is a set of four chargers (49 & 39 cm). This was so costly, you could probably also spend it on a canal house or three. Then again, he probably already owned a few of those…
