Jacob was first son of Coonrod Pile, married Comfort Evangeline Williams, in 1806, living in Tennessee until 1818, then Indiana until 1827, then permanently to Illinois in 1829. He was a wagon maker and farmed 240 acres with his sons Johnson, Elias, Daniel Jr, James and William. Daugters married names were Rhoda Burman, Rebecca Earl, Mary Blansett, Nancy McPheran, Sarah McClain and Susan Ward.
