About Jacob Teague, Sr.

In 1767 he purchased property at German Flats, Mohawk River, New York Province. He appeared on Muster Roll #20 at New Carlisle, Quebec, Canada in 1785 F805 On Muster Roll#20 at New Carlisle, 1785 (a Loyalist).

In 1800 he returned to North Carolina when the people were very near starvation, and he knew if he returned he would be able to claim his inheritance from his father Moses. Many so-called Loyalists changed their minds and returned to USA.

Other notes on Jacob: 1775 Lived in Tyron county. 1777 went to Niagara. Then joined Butler's Rangers 2 years. Then joined Sir John Johnnson Rangers. 1783 Malbay on government service. Had bought land from Augustine Prevost 9 years before the war.
