Jacob Walker April 23, 1785 - October 20, 1859
Parents were George Walker, Sr. and Margaret Heefner Walker.
Parents moved to Botetourt County, Virginia in 1798 where they were called the "Dutch Walkers". He never spoke a word of English until he was 13 years of age. Jacob was a Private in the War of 1812. He moved to Monroe County, Missouri with his wife Mary Alvira and children in 1832. They later settled in Lewis County, Missouri.
Married first wife, Elizabeth Renfro, Oct. 24, 1805 Botetourt County, Virginia.
Married Second wife, Mary "Polly" Holder in Botetourt County, Virginia.
Nothing is known about the two above wives, except that there were two children born prior to his marriage to Mary A. Snodgrass.
Sarah "Sally" Walker, thought to have married a Stinnett. Jack, Lieutenant, who was killed in the Black Hawk (Indian) War.
Married Mary Alvira Snodgrass in 1827 near Indiananapolis, Decatur Co., Indiana.
Children: George, died 2nd yr. of age; William Snodgrass 1830-1914; Joseph Asbury 1832-; Peter 1834-1909; Margaret 1834-; Henry Polonius 1835-1899; John Frederick 1837-; Elizabeth 1840-1915; Daniel Benton 1843-1888; James 1845- and Mary Ann 1849-1939.
