About Jacob Haynes Wild

On July 15 1862, at age 21, he joined the 64th NC Infantry Regiment of the Confederate Army. He deserted 24 March 1863. On June 11, 1864 he joined Company A of the 3rd North Carolina Mounted Regiment of the Union Army in Knoxville, TN. Jacob Haynes moved to Tennessee about 1879 or 1880 and settled in Cocke County. He married his 2nd wife, Mary L. Cogdill, about 1887.
