Ziegler, Jacob Fisher

Age 89, of 125 Englewood Ave. (Oil City), well known local resident for the past 16 years and former resident of Maple Shade, died at the Oil City hospital at 7:20 Wednesday p.m. of extended illnesses.

Mr. Ziegler was a carpenter by trade, and had been a patient at the hospital for the past 10 months. Well known in this section as a hunter, in spite of advanced age, he had continued enjoying the sport of hunting up to the time of his illness. He served as Sunday School Supt. and had been active in affairs of Mt. Zion Methodist Church, which is now disbanded. He also sang in the choir of that church. Since coming to Oil City 16 years ago, where he made his home with his son Arthur A. Ziegler, Englewood Ave., he had attended the Grace M.E. Church and Men's Bible Class of that church.

The son of the late David and Sarah Miller Ziegler, the deceased was born on the farm at Maple Shade July 7, 1849. He had lived there till coming to Oil City 16 years ago. He married Amanda Haslett who died July 6, 1917. Mr. Ziegler is survived by four sons: Myron W., Maple Shade; George of Cranberry; Fred T. of New Kensignton and Arthur A. of Oil City; three daughters--Mrs. Emma Brown of Oil City; Mrs. Lulu Linn of Polk and Mrs. Edna Borland of Spencerville, Ohio. 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cranberry M.E. Church. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
