Jacques Groag (sometimes incorrectly referred to as Jaques), ( 5 February 1892 , Olomouc - 28 January 1962 , London ) was an internationally acclaimed architect and interior designer, originally from Moravia .

He grew up in a well-to-assimilated Jewish family that operated a thriving malt house. Among his other relatives were known or publicly active personality. Brother Emanuel "Emo" Groag, which later drove the family malt house was a skilled draftsman and caricaturist. Cousin Heinrich Groag was recognized in the interwar period Brno lawyer and pacifist who worked at the local and international scene. Nephew Willi Groag is known for his humanitarian work in the Terezin ghetto during World War II. [1]

After graduating from German secondary school in Manchester and his military service, he went Jacques Groag in 1910 to Vienna to study architecture , Adolf Loos , Austrian architect recognized Moravian origin. During the First World War , which interrupted his studies, he served in the artillery.
