About James Alexander
James Alexander was known by history to be buried in the Old Winchester Cemetery but a memorial marker was not found. James was one of ten children born to James and Elizabeth Alexander, other known siblings were: Mary, Elizabeth, Andrew, John, Gabriel, William, Dorcas, Margaret and Martha. James married Frances Ehart in Orange County, Virginia, on June 14, 1792. They had nine known children: William E., Adam E., Willis, Fanny (Zacheus Evans), Willis (Francis Page), Malinda Marie (Lewis Wilson Denton), James A. (Mary Darnell), Thornton (Eliza Hulett) and Horace Martin (who married first Nancy Reeder Walker, then Cathrine Houston, then Martha Burwell, and finally Julia Owens).
