James Edward Bain is reported to have died at Goshen in West Chester, Pennsylvania, in the United States of America. He was certainly buried there in April 1670. According to Find A Grave, he was born on 23 April 1631, at Perth in Perthshire, Scotland. Find A Grave Memorial This information was also published by WikiTree
Find A Grave and WikiTree both identify James Bane as the son of John Bane and Alesoune Ker but his connection with his putative parents has not been satisfactorily demonstrated. For Example, a birth or baptismal record dated 23 April 1631 has not been identified in Scotland's old parochial registers. The nearest in date to it is the baptismal record of James Bain, son of John Bain, which was registered on 23 April 1631, at Alyth in Perthshire, Scotland. The name of this child's mother is not mentioned in the baptismal record, which reads as follows: "Jhon Bain in the Blaklounans had ane chyld baptized called James on good friday".
