Disowned by family either died in Civil war or went someplace after war other than home. "FROM BARBER FAMILY MEMORIES "James Barber who served on Confederate side, and Mrs. Staton alway's said was disowned and left home, never returned after the war ended, if he survived he evidently made his home elsewhere."

James is the only family member I have found (so far) who served in the Confederate Army.
