About James Broyles
James Broyles, Jr
James Broyles Jr was a son of James Broyles and Ellender Broyles and they were all Descendants of the Germanna Second Colony of 1717 of Virginia.
James Broyles married three times. He first married Sally Shoun on July 26, 1821 in Washington County, Tennessee.
He then married his cousin Lucinda Broyles (1802-1849) on January 3, 1824 in Greene County, Tennessee. Lucinda Broyles was a daughter of John Broyles (1773-1849) and Frances Bays (1775-1847). John and his daughter Lucinda were both Germanna Second Colony descendants. John Broyles was a son of Jacob Broyles and Elizabeth Yowell. John Broyles and James Broyles were siblings.
James Jr. and Lucinda were the parents of at least eight (8) children as follows:
- Harvey Broyles (1824–?)
- James Franklin Broyles (1826–1873)
- Martha Jane Broyles (1828–1908)
- Washington Broyles (1830–1911)
- Nathaniel Broyles (1832–1908)
- Frances E Broyles (1834–?)
- Mary Elizabeth Broyles (1837–1869)
- Sarah Ann Broyles (1838–1903)
James Jr then married Parthena Robinson (1812-1866) and they were the parents of at least six children as follows:
- David Broyles (1840–1850)
- Simeon A Broyles (1842–1920)
- Eleanor J Broyles (1844–1913)
- Icyphenia P Broyles (1845–1889)
- Dudley M. Broyles (1849–1854)
- Eliza Jane Broyles (1855–?)
James Broyles died on January 30, 1860 and he is buried in Row 10 in Shirley Cemetery, Elmer, Macon County, Missouri
