James A. Crain, 71, a long time Rushville resident, passed away at his home Thursday evening, January 3, 2013. He was born on March 31, 1941 in Franklin County, IN. to Herman J. & Dorothy Marie (Tomlin) Crain. He spent his early life in Metamora and a few years in Milroy before moving to Rushville & making it his home. He married Elizabeth Ann Lee on June 5, 1965 & she survives.
Jim worked for General Motors in Indianapolis for nearly 40 years before retiring in 2003. He was a Golden Eagle at the Rushville Eagles Lodge, member of the Rushville American Legion Post #150, was an avid golfer and loved watching old westerns.
In addition to his wife, Liz, of Rushville, Jim is survived by his sons, Jimmy Gene (& wife Bobbi) Crain and Eddie B. Crain both of Rushville, his daughter, Melissa (& husband Mike) Ooley of Rushville, brothers, Joe Crain and Glenn (& wife Helen) Crain and a sister, Connie (& husband Robert) Emme all of Rushville, 5 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10 AM Monday, January 7 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 2-8PM on Sunday, January 6. Pastor Ray Sweet III will preside and burial will be in the East Hill Cemetery in Rushville.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Decatur County.
