GEDCOM Note

On April 8, 1841: James Calhoun of Breathitt County, sold to his uncle, David Calhoun of Perry County, 25 acres of land for $150.00. This land was located in Perry County on Troublesome Creek, a branch of the North Fork of the Kentucky River, patented in the name of Joseph Cockerill.

On March 25, 1846: James Calhoun of Breathitt County, sold to his uncle, David Calhoun of Letcher County, 50 acres of land for $380.00. This land was located in Letcher County on Troublesome Creek, a branch of the North Fork of the Kentucky River.

On 2-6-1869, per Breathitt County Deed Book 1, pages 455-459, James divided a 300 acre farm (more or less) equally among three sons: James, Jeptha, and John C. Calhoun. (Note: His only other living son , Evens Calhoun, was not included, which means James must not have been happy with him.)

1860 Breathitt County Census: L. C. Kash is living in James and Mary's home.
