MR. JAMES CHAPPLE. It is with extreme regret that we have to record the death of a very old and highly respected resident of Bowral. in tbe person of Mr. James Chapple, which took place at the local hospital about 2. o'clock on Saturday afternoon. The deceased who was in his 56th year, was the eldest son of the late Mr William Chapple, and was a hard working and industrious man and who by his kindly disposition and stict integrity made many friends and no enemies. Although 'born at Kama, the deceased had spent, practically all his life in this district, and was widely known and greatly esteemed. He had been ailing for about three months, and recently went to Sydney for hospital treatment, but receiving no benefit he returned to Bowral and was admilted to tbe local. Institution. Latterly he had been failing rapidly, and the end was not unexpected. The late Mr. Chapple was twice married, and leaves a widow and three ' ohildren- two sons, Ernest and William, by his first wife, and one son by the second. He also leaves three brothers -Wiliam (Albion Park), John and Harry (Bowral)-and three sisters- Mrs. F. Stenner and Mrs. A. Stenner (Richmond River), and Mrs. J. Limond (Wilde's Meadow). The funeral took place on Sunday aflternoon, when, despite tbe fact that many friends had not heard ot his death, there was a representative cortege to pay a last tribute ot respect to tbe deceased. The remains were interred in the Church of England portion of tbe Bowral general cemetery, the service being conducted by the Rev. T. E.Dustln Morgan and ,the funeral arrangements by Mr J. Beavan.
