James C Criddle Dies at Pyland

Funeral services for James Chester Criddle, employee of the State Highway Department, were conducted at Macedonia at 3 pm, Tuesday, May 26.

The Rev. Bobby Hankins officiated. Interment was in the Macedonia Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Billy Holliday, Mark Alexander, Johnny Porter, Bill Hollis, F C Jones and Grayden Verell.

Mr. Criddle died at 1:30 pm, Monday, May 25, at Pyland. He resided on route 3, Houston.

He was born August 17 1907, the son of Jessie Franklin Criddle and Anna Bell Wooten. He was a member of the Macedonia Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lela Belle Hill Criddle of Houston; a daughter, Mrs. Sam Walls of Columbus; two brothers, Emmitt and James E Criddle, both of Houston; four sisters, Mrs. Clarence Gann, Mrs. Bobby Lee Gann, and Mrs. Frank Gann, all of Houston, and Mrs. Joe Sword of Greenville, and two grandchildren.
