About James Abercrombie Faure
James was born in Cape Town and became a member of the Cape Town DRC on 13.12.1881. On 03.12.1889, aged 25, he married Margaretha Johanna Myburgh CLOETE (called “Maggie”) (* 12.12.1864; + 29.11.1949, aged 84). James was an Accountant. He died at home: 18 Sarel Cilliers Street, Strand. His former address was 46 Palmyra Road, Newlands. In his Will he made special mention of a Grandfather clock, bought by his grandfather, Dr Abraham FAURE, which is regarded as a family heirloom. It was made by John Thwaits of London, c1760; it was left to son Johannes, conditionally, as was some silverware. James also was a Missionary, served on the DRC Church Board, Rondebosch and preached regularly. He and Margaretha had 5 children.
