

James Roger Foley (Rog), 86, of Williamsburg, passed away on Thursday May 7. He was born on April 15, 1929 to John and Agnes (Langer) Foley in Prescott, Wisconsin. Roger graduated with the class of 1947 from Ellsworth High School, Ellsworth, Wisconsin. He attended St. John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota and then served with the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. After military service, Roger was employed by Buick Motor Division of General Motors in Minneapolis. He attended Business Management School at General Motors Institute in Detroit and was employed in the automobile business for 20 plus years. After his employment at General Motors, Roger worked with Donald Quinn at Larson-Quinn Company in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. On August 25, 1956 Roger married JoAnn Riley at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ellsworth and they resided in Minnetonka, Minnesota while he worked in Golden Valley. They later moved to a farm in Hager City, Wisconsin where they raised their four sons; Terry, Tim, Bob and Matt. The family moved to Ellsworth, Wisconsin where they lived for 20 years until the couple retired to Port Charlotte, Florida and in 2005 made their residence in Williamsburg, Iowa.
Roger is survived by his wife, JoAnn, and 4 sons, Terry (Dianne Webster) of Williamsburg, Iowa, Timothy (Teresa Rengers) of Four Seasons, Missouri, Robert (Sharon Webster) of Willmar, Minnesota, Matthew (Linda Krause) of De Smet, South Dakota, 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandsons, 1 brother, Donald of Merton, Wisconsin, and 2 sisters-in-law, Ruby and Dorothy and many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters, Florence Cotter, Sister Jerome Foley, OSB, Grace Johnson and Carmen, 4 brothers, Robert, Francis, Walter and Stanley, sister-in-law Audrey, a niece and 4 nephews.
A Memorial service will be held at 10:30am May 25, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williamsburg, Iowa. A Visitation will take place at the St Mary's Church Hall before the service from 9:00-10:00am. A fellowship luncheon will take place at the Church Hall following the service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation could be made to the University of Iowa, Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center to support Leukemia Research.
