About James Peter Fraser
The birth date is confirmed from NZ military records to be 1891
He was born in Australia but all other MyHeritage records seem to think he was born in Uruti, New Zealand. This is incorrect and the military records state he was born in Australia. What seems to have been the case was that his parents had him in Australia but he must have been brought over to New Zealand as a baby because on his military records (dated 1915-1916 ?) he stated he had lived in NZ for 24 years which affirms that theory.
His father is listed as "Australian" and his mother is listed as "Irish" in his military records.
The cemetery record online for "New Plymouth cemetery records" is incorrect and states he was 85 years old but his gravestone is believed to be correct as it says he was 88 years old. This agrees with his birthdate
He did military service in the first NZEF (stated on his gravestone plaque) and served in the WW1. He had medals. His military service ended in 1919
Married in 1916. (Dec 14 1916). This is confirmed from military records
