James J. Fuchs, 54, of Phoenix, Ariz., and formerly of Melrose, died Oct. 24, 2003, in Phoenix, following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, St. Cloud. The Rev. Tim Wenzel officiated. James Fuchs was born in Melrose to Art and Julietta (Spanier) Fuchs. He graduated from Melrose High School. He married Elaine Wohkittle May 8, 1971, in Farmington. He owned and operated Coronado Machine Shop in Phoenix. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Judy, (Jeff) Cooper, Colorado, son Brian, Arizona, and three grandchildren, brothers and sisters, Stephen Fuchs, California, Pat (Al) Hommerding, St. Cloud, Art Fuchs, St. Cloud, Lorraine (Jim) Struzyk, Spring Valley, Janet (Jim) Welch, Corcoran, Mona (David) Barr, Ramsey and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. One brother, Robert and one sister, Marlene preceded him in death.
