He served in the U.S. Army during the last year of WWII. He was a graduate of Penn State Behrend where he received a degree as a professional engineer. He worked at GE as an engineer for over 20 yearsthen retired as a tool and dye maker at Bob Leeh Tool and Dye Co. in Meadville. He was a member of the Allegheny Canoe Club, the Erie Audubon Society, and the Union City Senior Center. He enjoyed canoeing, hiking, horseback riding, and most outdoor activities. He was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Union City.
