

TORRINGTON – James “Jim” Hacker, 62, died April 3 at his home in Torrington.
Jim was born on Nov. 3, 1949, in Torrington, the son of Perry and Mildred (Foote) Hacker.
He grew up and received his education; graduating Torrington High School in 1968. He then went to work at Hacker Oil, where he was employed until his untimely death. He married Scherri Franklin on July 31, 1998, at the Little Moon Lake Supper Club.
In February 2006, Jim and Scherri leased A.J.’s Sinclair Service Station and Convenience Store from Hacker Oil and have operated it since.
Jim enjoyed horses and roping, fishing and golfing. He was a member of the American Golf Association, the Cottonwood Country Club, the Scottsbluff Country Club and First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church.
Jim is survived by his wife, Scherri, of Torrington, son, Brian Hacker, of Rock Springs; three daughters, Ashlie Hacker and Shawna Hacker-Paules, both of Torrington, and Christy Hacker, of Sturgis, S.D.; mother, Mildred “Mickey” Gulley, of Torrington; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Dorothy Hacker, of Torrington; and sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Bob Tibesar, of Las Vegas.
He was preceded in death by his father and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 9 at First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Steven Seng officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, April 8 at Colyer Funeral Home Chapel, and the casket will be open briefly prior to funeral services.
