James Huggins was born in 1653 in Dunbartonshire, England. His parents were Crandall O’Hagan and Shirley O’Donally. He married Priscilla Homan on October 14, 1683 in the City of London, England at the Collegiate Church of St. Katherine by the Tower. Their son, John Huggins, was born in 1690 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. James Huggins died in 1728 in Belfast, Northern Island, There are no records that show he had a second wife and since James Huggins and Priscilla Homan died in the same year, 1728, there is no reason to believe he did.
