

Native of Scotland came to U. S. in 1796 and was leading clerk of Panton, Leslie and Co. In 1803 he became a partner and lived in Mobile in 1817 was president of the Commissioners of Mobile. Head of Forbes Co. of Pensacola. Married Spanish Countess Louise Trouilett, who owned a plantation in Cuba, in 1808. She is probably buried in Cuba.
