James Keith Scott married his cousin. He was an M.D. and also a member of the House of Representatives in Springfield. One of the most prominent of pioneers, was a native of South Carolina, and moved to Indiana in an early day. They landed here in the spring of 1827 with Samuel P. Glenn.

Mr. Scott brought his family with him, consisting of a wife and two sons, Lorenzo Dow and John W. Scott. Five children were born to them in DeWitt County, Illinois. His remains lie in one of the oldest cemeteries in the county, situated on the premises of Samuel P. Glenn in section 26.
