BOW -- James Joseph Large, 82, formerly of Cohoes, N.Y., died July 21, 2010, at Concord Hospital.
He was born in Troy, N.Y., to John P. and Sarah (Ricketts) Large.
He was a graduate of LaSalle Institute, where he was later president of the Fathers Club.
For 40 years he worked as a quality control engineer for G.E. Silicones in Waterford, N.Y. He was a founding officer and longtime treasurer of the G.E. Silicone Federal Credit Union. He coached in the Cohoes Youth Baseball program for several years.
He was a dedicated sports fan. He attended the USA's gold medal hockey game at the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, N.Y. He rarely missed one of his grandchildren's lacrosse games. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 21 in Concord and was also a member of the Elks Club in New York.
IN HIS LIFE: Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Jane (Zabek) Large of Bow; his son Terrance J. Large and his wife Christine of Bow; two grandchildren, Kevin J. Large of Dover and Sarah E. Large of Bow.
SERVICES: Memorial calling hours will be on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main St., Concord.
Memorial services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at N.H. State Veterans Cemetery Chapel in Boscawen. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
The Bennett Funeral Home of Concord is in charge of the arrangements.
