About James Leonard McIsaac
James Leonard was the second child, and only son, born to Horace Leonard and Annie Constance McIsaac nee Orriell. He was born on 25th September 1908 at Katoomba and married Gladys Marjorie Ballhause, the second child of Joseph William and Isabella Mary Louise Ballhause nee Shaw at All Saints Church of England, Petersham on 19th. September 1936.They had two children Robert Leonard, born on 30th August, 1937 and John Douglas born on 20th December 1938.
James Leonard followed his father into the Post Office and worked in numerous positions until he was appointed a Postal Investigation Officer in Sydney from where he retired due to ill health.He was a very sick man with Diabetes which he was diagnosed with at age 14 and during the latter stages of his life spent much time in hospitals.
He was a keen lawn bowler and played pennants with Mascot Bowling Club. Gladys also became a bowler and enjoyed social bowls also at the Mascot Club.
James Leonard died in hospital at age 52, following which Gladys and Robert moved to a unit in Clovelly where she died age 73 in 1977.
Both James Leonard and Gladys Margery were cremated at Woronora Crematorium in Botany..
