===Monumental Inscription in the Graveyard of St Margaret's Church in Chipstead===

In memory of Sir James Little, KNT / and also Knight of the most illustrious Spanish order / of Charles III / (Sacred to virtue and merit) / Possessed of the most amiable / disposition and living in the / exwearied exercise of public and private / benevolence he was justly endeared to all / who knew him / He obtained the distinguished honor / above mentioned from His Majesty / the King of Spain in testimony / of that monarch's high sense / of his humane exertions and active kindness towards / the inhabitants of the Island of Teneriffe in season of / unparalleled misery and distress / He died at Shabden Park / in this parish on the 17th of October/ 1820 (?) in the 68th year of his age. {Chipstead Burial Register has 24 Oct 1829) West Side: Family Crest.

North Side: Also interred in this vault / The remains of Archibald Little Esq, / of Shabden in this parish died 26 Aug 1844 / in his 85th year / Also Agnes widow of the above / died 1st May 1869 in her 87th year / Archibald Little / Commander R.N. /died 24 Novr 1892 aged 48.

East Side: Here are interred the remains / of Agnes Emily, daughter of William and Emily Anne Little / of Shabden, died 20th May 1848 aged 14 months / Also of Lockhart Campbell / their son died 10 July 1862 / aged 14 months / Also Lockhart Little / late Capn. Kings Dragoon Guards / Born Novr. 14 1821 Died Feby 17 1877 / Also James Little / died July 29 1888 aged 70 years.
