The Manti Messenger, Friday 10 May 1895:

James Lowry died at his home in this city on Wednesday morning. He was sick but a few days. The physicians in attendance pronounced his complaint neuralgia of the stomach. He leaves a wife and seven children. Funeral services were held in the Tabernacle this afternoon.
