The day before he died he said that his part of his father's estate should be devised betwixt his wife and 2 daus. House in Carlise to go to his 2 daus. together with house that belonged to his grandmother, now in dispute. Plantation he lived on to go to his son and eldest daughter. Wife Mary. Son, Andrew and two daus. Clothes to be divided between his two bros. Bro. Ross to have care of the three children. To set Negro man Bristo free at age 31. He asked the witnesses to go for Elias Davison to draw his will but there was no paper in the house. Elias Davison and Henry Pauling were to return the next evening but James Mitchell died before they arrived.
