1820 Settler in Mouncey's Party.

James Mouncey went to Natal in 1834 and in 1835 was appointed to the Town Committee for Durban. During that year he was a petitioner for Government recognition of Natal. A small rural area in the Midlands of Natal was named Mouncey.
