"The Norris Family" is an amazing work in Genealogy, 1500 pages in four volumes. Only three copies were produced, and one is located in the Rare Books Section of the Library of Congress. Another is to be in the Kansas DAR Library at dodge city, Ks. "born Baltimore co., Md 25 Feb. 1742/3. He was devised certain lands by his father in 1761 jointly with his brothers. James Norris was enlisted by Ensign Lewis, & passed by William Hyde Lieut. & assigned to Colonel Edward Cookey's Battalion of Militia (Arch Md. Vol. 12 fol. 541). They resided in Baltimore co. This data from family bible of James Norris, their son, in possession of Mrs. Dallas Grady, of Washington D.C. Children: Daniel, Mary Frances, Charlotte, James, Belinda, Elizabeth, Hannah & Benjamin."
