U.S. Army vet, broadcast administrator for RCA
James Orsini Jr., 79, of Canonsburg, died Wednesday, November 28, 2007, in Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
He was born Wednesday, January 25, 1928, in Canonsburg, a son of James and Mary Hordies Orsini.
Mr. Orsini graduated from Canonsburg High School and was a member of St. Patrick Church. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict.
He was employed at RCA as a broadcast administrator for 38 years and later worked as an office manager for Anthony L. Colaizzo Agency.
Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Malicki Orsini; two sons, Douglas Orsini (Robin) of Pittsburgh and Bradley Orsini of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a daughter, Lori Hutchinson (George) of Canonsburg; a brother, Raymond Orsini of Simi Valley, Calif.; two sisters, Pauline McPeake of Canonsburg and Adelma Powers of McKeesport; six grandchildren, Melissa Hutchinson, Christina Weise (Bryan) and James, Michael, Elizabeth and Joseph Orsini; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Harry Orsini; and two sisters, Julia Provence and Lena Begandy.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College Street, Canonsburg, J. David Sollon, supervisor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 1, in St. Patrick Church, Canonsburg. Interment will follow in Oak Spring Cemetery, Canonsburg.
