James Payne

This is the James Payne of the Abbot’s Creek, Rowan, NC area who was a brother to the John Payne listed above. Therefore, through DNA, is not related to the Isaac Payne line. There was a James Payne, w. Elizabeth Hudson, in Dorchester, MD who is most likely the James Payne who bought household goods and livestock from Isaac Payne, Sr. in July, 1791 and, thus, a son of him. He also is most likely the James Payne who died Mar, 1796 in Caroline County, MD as his widow sold slaves shortly after that time.
