They moved from Barnstable, MA to East Haddam, CT about 1705, buying land 1706 From Matthew Rowley. Abigail had a transfer letter from Barnstable church accepted by First Church in East Haddam, James was baptised and admitted 1709.
The Percival name changed for some children to Paraseual, only Joseph, James, and John kept Parsavell spelling.
The will of James Percival dated August 1, 1728 at East Haddam named his two sons James and John Percival, daughter Mary Percival and wife Mary Percival and made bequests to them. The bond on his estate dated December 3, 1728 was posted by son John Percival and Daniel Brainerd. The inventory was taken on November 29th and on the top part showed that he "deceased 4th November 1728". The fieldstone shows "I P 1728" with a dash across the "I" which is the old English version for "J". It looks like and "E" but it's not. The Percivals lived in the 2nd Society or Machamoodus section of East Haddam, CT where they lived for generations. They were not of the 1st Society.
