James E. Pritts, 74, Champion RD 1, died Aug. 2, 1987, at
Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born July 4, 1913, in Fayette County,
son of the late William and Sarah (Berg) Pritts. Preceded in death by
first wife, the former Joan E. Cane in 1985; 11 brothers and a
sister. Survived by second wife, Jean; and the following children:
LaVerne Pennington and Janet Shimek, both of Whittaker, N.C.; Mrs.
Duane (Dolores) Showman, Champion RD 1; James Silvis, Uniontown; Mrs.
Melvin (Bonnie) Britton, Rittman, Ohio; a brother, Holbert L. Pritts
of Somerset; 20 grandchildren; and these stepchildren: Ray Kelly,
Rockwood; Mrs. Nelson (Nancy) Saylor, Rockwood; and James Kelly of
Champion RD 1. Member of Trent Rod and Gun Club. Member of the
Christian Gospel Tabernacle, Rockwood. Friends will be received 2-4
and 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Wilbur D. Miller Funeral Home where
funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 1 p.m. the Rev. Kenneth
Davis Officiating. Interment, Tinkey Cemetery.
