- Married Eileen Bate, daughter of Frederic Calder Bate, in St. Michael's Church, Queenstown, 4 August 1891. Minister Rev.Julius Gardor.

- Signed death notice of his father-in-law Frederic Calder Bate in 1903.

England Census of 1911: Living in Rosevanion, Cornwall, retired banker, with wife and 3 children

- In 1914 his wife Eileen Rae petitioned for divorce, detailing both the physical and mental abuse she had suffered for years living with Edmund Rae. She requested custody of the three younger children. The divorce petition does not give the judge's judgement, but she never divorced. Divorce petition on Ancestry.com.

- Became bedridden and was nursed by his wife Eileen and daughter Mary for many years.
