About James Lee Rawlins
The funeral of Mr. James L. Rawlins, who died yesterday at Hopewell, Virginia, after an operation for appendicitis, is being held this afternoon at 4:30 at his home, 1105 Magnolia street. The remains arrived this morning on train No. 11. The service is being conducted by Rev. Frank E. Lee pastor of Buffalo and Midway Presbyterian church, assisted by Rev. R. G. Walker, pastor of Glenwood Presbyterian church. Interment at Greene Hill cemetery. The deceased is survived by his widow, Ruth Holderby Rollins, and five children, Virginia, Lizzie, Lee, Manis, Edgar and Hazel. He also leaves two brothers, WIlliam Rawlins of this city, and Charles Rawlins, of Ruffin, North Carolina, and one sister, Mrs. Sallie Gatewood of Chatham, Virginia. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, No. 164, and the following Odd Fellows acted as pallbearers: R. P. Gorrel, H. L. Hicks, E. R. Cox, B. B. Phillips, S. W. Davis and E. E. Hanner.
