About James Melvin Robinson
He confessed his life to Jesus Christ At an early age at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Headland, Alabama. James was the first born child of Arthur and Orlevia Robinson.He had two sisters Ada and Jenny Robinson. And he had three aunts Mary Dozier, Maude Jones, and Virlie Crews.
James served in the United States Navy during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he moved to West Palm Beach, Flordia where he met and married Rosalie Hernandez in 1949. They later moved to Toledo, Ohio.
To their union two children were born, Deidrei Denise and Brent Melvin
James Robinson was an avid fisherman. He was a member of the NAACP, FDCA, and other organizations. He was a big participant in the Boy Scouts of America and a active member of The Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Toledo. He also served as a Trustee for the Warren-Sherman Development Corporation.
He retired after 27 years with The City of Toledo Urban Renewal Community Development and the Toledo Metropolian Housing Authority.
